Sponsor The Crochet Crowd - 4 Opportunities

Daniel and I are looking for financial Sponsorship for three up and coming events that we are part of and 1 Sponsorship from companies by demonstrating their products at Festivals. With all of our content being free and with a minimal amount of ad revenue sales, we heavily rely on our jobs to continue to fund The Crochet Crowd to keep it functioning.

It's estimated that Michael has funded nearly $25,000 into keep The Crochet Crowd live and active using his full time job for the past three years to make up the short fall. Up to date computer equipment, software, cameras, lighting, props, traveling and service fees for websites, web space, and more are adding up.

Michael's Full Time Job is now gone and now it's up to him to continue to find a way to keep The Crowd operational with all the operating expenses that go on behind the scenes. He needs financial support to keep going. Below are four opportunities for sponsorship. With our social media skills, videos, and much more, we have the power to amplify whomever sponsors us. It's a win-win for everyone.

CHA Designer's ShowCase - Opportunity
  • We (Michael and Daniel) are participating in the CHA Designer Showcase at CHA Rosemont (Chicago) on July 18th - 21st, 2011.
  • The purpose of the Designer's Showcase is to have Media, Editors, and Publishers learn about The Crochet Crowd / The Crafting Crowd.
  • Our goal is to become introducted by serious sponsors that are willing to back up The Crochet Crowd and help it thrive all year around.
  • We are looking for pattern book deals, product branding in our own name, our own yarn line, and more.
  • We are looking for a company to begin branding The Crochet Crowd / The Crafting Crowd for customized products under our name that will match video tutorials. We are ready to begin this stage.
  • It is an opportunity for important people to meet us and really take us seriously.
  • This event costs us $100 to enter. We are looking for sponsorship of $200 for this.
  • We will be setting up a Table at the Designer's Showcase and would like to ensure our table is the cream of the crop. The extra $100 will be used on props required for the table.
  • As a sponsor, you will receive friendly note left on the table, "This Display Sponsored by.... YOUR NAME / COMPANY". So that all these media spectators know who helped mae it possible for us.
  • We will include your company in our social marketing from the date you agree to the end of July 2011.
CHA Travel, Hotel, Meals & Misc - Opportunity
  • We (Michael and Daniel) have been carefully chosen by CHA Canada to represent Canada at CHA in Rosemont IL (Chicago) on July 18 - 21st, 2011.
  • We are part of a Mix Media Project where we are presenting to at least 150 Retailers our innovative ideas about this product. We are set to inspire and create raw enthusiasm.
  • We require help with our travel, hotel, meals and misc expenses incurred for attending this show.
  • We will be driving out to Chicago to keep our traveling costs down.
  • We are looking for sponsorship of a combined $2000.
  • We are not expecting 1 company or 1 person to handle this alone. We are open to partial funding to reach to the $2000 level of sponsorship.
  • We will be making it clear who is our sponsors through our strong social media networking and videos.
  • It is opportunity for us to include the sponsors into various blogs, thank you notes, and dedicated videos. Any sponsor donating over $500 will get a dedicated How To Video in our channel line up. It works out to be 13 - 15 cents per day for the 2 years minimum it will run.
Product Demonstration - Opportunity
  • The Crochet Crowd has proven time and time again on our marketing strength in person at Festivals / Shows when demonstrating crafting products.
  • At this time, have to buy all products at wholesale level and hopefully the profit levels of the products achieved at the shows pay for our time, hotel, meals, and travelling expenses.
  • We are looking to be backed up by a company where their products are directly related to The Crochet Crowd / The Crafting Crowd.
  • Backed up meaning, expenses of time, hotel, meals and travelling expenses are covered.
  • I am the spokesperson of The Crochet Crowd / The Crafting Crowd, but it takes a number of people to help due to the excitment created at shows.
  • Mikey & The Crochet Crowd is a worthwhile investment. We are extremely good at what we do at the shows and can lead consumers to show the ins and outs of crafting products.
Creativ Festival Fall 2011 Sponsorship - Opportunity
  • We have been contracted to go back to Creativ Festival in October 2011.
  • We are looking for Sponsorship of $4000 for this show.
  • We are looking to have our meals, hotels, and traveling expenses covered. Hotel fees alone are about $1500. We require 2 rooms for 4 nights for us and our staffing. This is taking place in the very expensive Downtown Core of Toronto Ontario.
  • This is a very expensive festival for us due to location but is attended in upwards of 40,000 people.
  • The Creativ Festival has a full 80 page colour brochure that is printed 80,000 times along with online advertising.
  • People who financially support us will get published in the Brochure. However, committment has to happen by the end of May 2011 because it goes to Print in June 2011.
  • We bring in a volunteer staff which are extremely deserving of being paid their time. They help in all aspects from moving in, non stop floor demos, engaging consumers, assisting where needed, and moving out procedures. We are looking to ensure our staffing is paid fairly for their time.
  • Any Sponsorship over $500 will get mentioned with your company logo inside the Creativ Festival Brochure.
  • All Sponsorship will be acknowledged. Sponsorship over $500 will get a How To video dedicated to them. Our videos run a minimum of 2 years. The running fees of this works out to be roughly 13 - 15 cents per day in advertising for the sponsor. It's practically peanuts!
We are worth the investment. We are extremely social and have connected with a strong audience with 100% authentic personalities that are contageous when spreading the word about creativity. We are struggling to keep our content free and believe whole heartedly it should remain free. However, we need help to reach our goals. The way we operate is in the current to future trend, though many people are surpringly behind stuck in the old age of media. We are good for each other.

If you have other ideas, we are all ears.

Thank you for your consideration,

Michael Sellick

TheCraftingCrowd.com is Born

In demand for putting Mikey on real packaging that you will see on stores, some of the packaging is non-relevant to Crochet. This would make the LOGO and branding of TheCrochetCrowd.com invalid.

Regular viewers will know Mikey has expanded interest into Loom Knitting nealy 2 years ago which has nothing to do with Crochet. Reality is, Daniel and Mikey should of thought of this before.

TheCraftingCrowd.com is now active and is a division of TheCrochetCrowd.com. Daniel and Mikey spent 2 days sorting through the new image for our new company. Image is everything. Daniel was primarily responsible for the logo design of the TheCrochetCrowd.com. Mikey had my input here and there... but conceptual wise it is what he was aiming for.

For this logo... The shapes were originally just scissors and a light bulb with some abstract lines. Daniel and my friend Laurie looked at it and said... Can't the lines be crochet hooks... So back to the drawing board I went and pushed to see what I could do about that... Converting lines into more recognizable shapes.

The neon colours are symbolizing brightness and excitement. I love brain storming... this is what happens! This logo was primarily designed by Mikey with many touches of creative suggestions by Daniel along the way. They are a super team!

Mikey's Life Turning Point - A New Beginning

Video Host, Michael Sellick, Takes A Risk!

The Crochet Crowd's Video Host begins a new journey as he takes a different path starting May 9th, 2011.

Michael has worked in the transportation sector for 12 years. His fascination for transporation logistics has been strong. Despite his unusual personality in this stereotypical industry where it's "Manly Man" that control everything. Like a fish swimming up stream, Michael decided to no longer fight the stream by trying to prove that you can be outside of the stereotype and fight through it. It's time to deviate off the stream and go in another direction.

The Crochet Crowd has grown to global proportion where Michael is invited to many conventions and festivals. His shift with transporation always was Friday to Monday. Essentially a Saturday off is time missed from his job. Michael was trapped between the job that pays the bills and the new job that could be in the future by making invaluable connections.

Starting June 6th, 2011 a new publication under The Crochet Crowd branding will take place. Michael will be the managing editor for this publication. His team at another location will be overseeing the behind the scenes of getting it out to the public. Initially it will be running 1 time per week, and eventually moving up to 4 times per week. Michael's theme is finding linkages, artists, viewers, and more that inspire people. Essentially the love for "The Crochet" will be globally broadcasted through this publication. Giving regular people like him and viewers an opportunity to receive recognition.

Michael has been waiting for this Fork In The Road and walking slowly to it. Michael officially gave resignation notice. Now the fork in the road is within 2 weeks. It's like being on a jumbo jet speeding up on the tarmac. What the future will hold is unknown... but now is the time to get serious about where the income will be generated from. For the past 3 years, The Crochet Crowd has been funded by Michael's real job. Without that, its going to get challenging... but his philosophy is that he hasn't been too serious to find sponsorship because he always had money to fall back on... without it now... it's going to get interesting. Future plans lay ahead and see what will materialize.

We have been through this festival before and know what is required to make things work. Thanks to Bernat and Red Heart for their yarn sponsorship again this time around.
